Thanks for taking the time to help. Your help is much appreciated.
I understand where you are coming from . . . security settings changing when
based on domain. What do I mean by "settings"? Same question here. Where I'm
getting thrown is I've got a boss trying to corner me on the term "user
settings". I can't see why any individual settings for the PC itself would
change... mail, progs, etc. Unless it is something dependant on the
workgroup/domain based architecture - and it goes without saying that it
will change.
I can't imagine too much changing since they're still running progs locally
and pretty much using the resources of the server for faxing and printing.
Of course I'm all for it because of the centralized administration.
I can always script any mapping of resources to automate the changeover for
drives, printers, etc. Anything else I'm missing? I'm old school Novell and
barely getting my feet wet in Win 2000 networking. Doman based servers, no
problem. But workgroups? Yikes. I've haven't had the pleasure...
Kim
based network on 2000? 1. Concerned about individual users retaining their
settings after migration.
