Migrating from XP Home SP1 to SP2

I tried to migrate to SP 2 from Home SP 1 using and the CD sent by Microsoft
and the live updating from Microsoft site, but the result is exactly the
same: the internal mouse and the keyboard of the note book are no more
available, so I must cancel all the updating and go back to SP 1.
Might anyone kindly help me ?

Download the latest hardware drivers (and install them) from your system
manufacturer - look also at the system BIOS information on the system
manufacturer web page and see if it might require updating to properly
utilize SP2.
