We are in the process of planning our migration to 2000
and we want to move from BIND to DDNS, any suggestions
would be helpful. Also if we promote a BDC that is
currently running DHCP and WINS, will these get upgraded
in the process or still work?

Thanks for any help.

Much of it has to do with how many Zones.

For one zone, you can just make a Secondary and swap
the roles (Primary & Secondary) after zone transfer.

For a LOT of zones you will want to import the actual BIND files,
boot file, and change the registry setting, "RegistryBoot" from 'Yes'
to 'No.' (restart machine and DNS manager to do the import and
probably change the registry back.)

DHCP and WINS upgrade just fine.

Remember to make the DNS DYNAMIC. Make sure ALL clients,
including DCs, point ONLY to the Dynamic DNS server (set).
