Hi all,

We're going to be migrating data from an old server to a new one. Is there a
utility we can use to keep the permissions intact once we move the data over.

THank you in advance,
Ray

Thanks Richard,

Would this work if I'm migrating from two domains. I forgot to mention that
in my original posting.

Thanks,
Ray

Check out Microsoft's ROBOCOPY file copy utility. Here's one link of many
to be found at microsoft.com:

You've got me, but I'd bet it will, especially if there's a trust between
the domains and/or you can establish a connection between the two domains
before using it.

Since you are crossing Domains you need the ADMT (Active Directory Migration
Tool). There are several ways it can bit you in the rear-end. Probably
several ways to do it wrong,..only a few way to do it right,...research the
ADMT documentation well,...know it well before doing anything.

The ADMT is downloadable from MS's Site.
