I have a small company with 10 computers connected to a
network. My File Server is running Windows XP Pro aswell
as 6 of my other computers. The network is running
smoothly, until my company expanded. I've added 3 more
computers, also running Windows XP Pro, to the network.
After some intensive research work, I've discovered that
Windows XP Pro (File Server is running Windows XP Pro) is
limited to 10 computers where the clients connect to (or
mapped their drives), "Inbound Connection Limit". My
question is : Can I purchase from Microsoft extra licenses
so that the all my client computers can run smoothly (13
computers in total)? If not can I migrate Windows XP Pro
to Windows 2003 (with all the access clients) without
loosing any settings or software on my File Server?
Good advise will be appreciated.
Thanks
