MIE will no longer allow me to access secure servers

I can no longer access secure servers to do online
banking or other secure online transactions. I've
creduced my security level to medium and contacted a
couple of the account support groups to troubleshoot to
no avail. The finger was then pointed at my Norton NIS
6.02 & NPF 6.02 so I uninstalled my Norton Internet
Security 2003 and again the problem still existed. I
reinstalled Norton form the CD and retried secure server
access before running live updates in case there was a
live update problem without success. I did the live
updates and retried secured server access again without
success. There were no problems until 2004 and my only
suspect now is the Microsoft Internet Browser 6.0. There
have been no added software programs to my XP 2002
Service Pack 1 system previous to the problem.
 
I had that problem a short while ago and i uninstalled IE6 then re-installed
it
I was allowed access to those type of secure websites again
