Hello All,
I know I read in one of the knowledge base that windows xp does not support
midi through sound redirection with remote desktop. Microsoft says this was
by design.

Does anyone know of any other way to let midis play with remote desktop?

If not is does anyone know if Microsoft is planning on addressing this issue
anytime soon, or I they going to keep saying this was designed not to work
this way?

Thanks
Dan

the yamaha xp softsynth cannot work with remote desktop....

If there was a real time midi to wave converter? If I find something I will
tell you

Hello Kenny,
Thanks for the email.
Basically what happens is my aunt uses incredimail which has midis playing
in the email. She uses remote desktop to connect to this machine. So if I
put winamp on both the client and the pc with the email program. It should
play midi ok through the remote desktop.

I had mentioned winamp, but after I saw Microsoft's article about midis will
not play through sound redirection, I just figured winamp would be no use.
However, you may have made me want to try and install it now.

I am still surprised Microsoft would say they wrote sound redirection
without midi support as designed.

Thanks
Dan

unfortunatly installing winamp will not let Incredimail play through remote
desktop.
