Does anyone know whether Windows XP Home has an equivalent
facility to the MIDI Mapper of Windows 95; this allows
MIDI channels to be assigned to different devices?

A while ago I tried to get this problem resolved and

Microsoft were unable to resolve the problem the
suggestion given me was to purchase some 3rd party
software for around $100. I know exactly what you are
looking for because I found it handy when using Band in A
Box I could have certain channel assigned to diferent
drivers. Unless something new has shown up I don't
believe you can do this with the Windows XP.
