Hello,

After my PC at work crashed and the tech reinstalled
Office, I am getting errors in the reports where I'm using
MID(). It formats a readable date out of a text field that
is in the format YYYYMMDD, as well as other stuff, like
sorting and grouping. Everthing worked fine for a long
time and it works great on my PC at home, just doesn't
work anymore on the PC at my day gig, which is running
Access 2000 on NT Workstation. A full install of all the
office components was performed, including Access. Are
there other modules that need to be installed that support
MID()? Any advice on what I could suggest to the techie to
get my reports back to where they were a few days ago?
Thanks.

Russ,

Well possible that this could be a 'Missing Reference'
problem. In the database open up any code module in design
view and then go to Tools/References and see if you have any
listed as 'Missing'. If so, that is the clue that the techie
needs. This is very common after a reload of a PC.

Hi Russ,

Losing a basic function like MID is often a symptom of a bad Reference.
From any code window, click Tools..Reference. Correct any references
marked as MISSING, or remove them if they aren't necessary.

Good luck,
