Some Creative SoundBlaster cards bundle the RECORDER utility, which handles
that nicely, with selectable inputs that include MIDI, WAV, WHAT YOU HEAR,
etc. I have recorded an hour's worth of MIDIs as WAV files, for example,
and burned them to an audio CD. This is but one option.
Similar utils are available on the Net. http://google.com Search for
"sound recorder"
Does it? That would explain why you're posting in a Windows XP group then.
