Microsoft's Beta Spyware??

I don't like the posts I've read so far about MS Beta
Spyware.????? I'm very hessitant to download it and use
it. I've seen some other websites that you can download
Anti-Spyware programs from. Anyone have any suggestions
as to which one is a trusted and good one to use
Any help would be grateful. Believe Me

Hi,
Do yourself a favor and go back and download Microsoft's Antispyware and
along with it down Lavasoft's Adaware.

The posts you are seeing are a tiny fraction of over 6 million downloads of
the product. If, however, you are uncomfortable, I suggest you wait until
the final product is released. May I suggest going to
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/default.mspx
for best practices. Be sure to watch the video!
There are other freeware/shareware scanners that have been around longer
that will work on systems. Thinking Spybot and Adaware just to name two.

Agree.

The MS software looks strangely like the GIANT antispyware package.. It was
OK, and I expect that this MS Beta is the next revision of GIANTS previous
developments.

Me thinks it is less Beta than it appears
 
That's why it is a public beta. On the other hand, looking at the range of
issues exhibited here, it has definite beta characteristics.

A couple of good free ones are Ad-Aware, and Spybot.
