Do you wish to hear from all 18,000,000 users, or would a smaller, select
grouping be sufficient?

Hi Ralee

Just a polite reminder. Maybe you are unaware, but it is a convention and
therefore considered impolite to post messages in upper case, because it
implies you are shouting (as in angry) about something. I think you should
should turn Caps Lock off when posting, then you won`t make Linux girl hard
of hearing and draw a degree of sarcasim from Bill. Andre, on the other hand,
has chosen to ignore and come up with a constructive comment - which is very
nice of him.

Personally. I have had great faith in this product since day one and think
it has come a long way since beginning of this year. Remember it is a Beta
product and like all products which are in beta is not perfect, has its bugs
etc but continues to improve with your help by posting your comments and
problems on here to the experts. In a single word - feedback. My general
feeling is when beta 2 is released first half of next year, you are going to
see some major enhancements and performance changes.` I have been one of the
luckier ones as my copy has seldom given me anything like some of the
problems I see posted on here.

Hi Ralee,

I think Microsoft has done a good job. What I like is this - Mr Gates made a
promise to help defeat SPYWARE and will not charge the home user for this
software. What more could we ask for. The TOP GUY is willing to state that MS
will contribute resources to help defeat the nastys in the world of
computers. MS certainly gets my vote for having an excellent product
stewardship department and when you hear this message from the top you know
they are willing to work on continuous improvements to get the job done.

The beta product has worked fine for me and has helped me eliminate some
nastys I have picked up along the way. I like the real time protection
feature of the MS product. Updates, for the most part, are working well. I
also like the fact that the beta product has a discussion group so you can
express information both favorable and unfavorable. It is also nice to see
the degee of expertise that is available on these discussion groups.

My only negative is I would like to see MS defender sooner rather than
later. One must realize it is still a beta and subject to being less than
perfect.

You are right....it was nice of Andre to ignore the shouting. I would think
though, that if someone is able to post to this group (even if shouting)
they should also be able to read the many posts here and form an opinion of
what people are thinking about the quality of MSAS.

I think you are right Stu. It will eventually be a quality product and save
users a lot of grief but at the moment beta1 is not for novices or the faint
of heart, and although I haven't been here much I have been testing it and
my advice to those people would still be to use a finished tested product(s)
at least until beta 2 is released.
