Does anyone know why when I open the "search" companion
(Start, Search) in XP the dialog box opens but it is
blank. I've tried the fix found on the Microsoft website
but it didn't fix my problem.

You'll probably have to re-install XP. I have suffered
htis before and have only got around it by re-installing.

Ususally it's caused by a missing .dll file. You can get a
service pack from the Microsoft Support site to solve this
but if you already have the lattest SP installed, then
tryingto get help from the MS site doesn't help.

Thanks for the tip, but I do have "Search" on the Start
menu but once the dialog box opens its to a blank screen
with just the tool bar at the top. I would reinstall but
I didn't receive an XP disc with computer.
