Microsoft XP Pro Excel spreadsheet

Iam running a Workbook with eight worksheets. As soon as
I enter a number in the first worksheet, it is
immediately replicated in the same cell on all the other
sheets.

How can this be prevented, please?

In sounds like the sheets are grouped. If so, all the sheet tabs
will appear white rather than the standard gray. To ungroup the
sheets, click on one of the sheet tabs. It might also be the case
that you have an event macro that is causing this. Open the VBA
Editor (ALT+F11) and view the code in the ThisWorkbook code
module. If necessary, delete the code.

Sounds like you have all worksheets selected. Either hold down a [Shift] key
and use the mouse pointer to click on the active worksheet's tab, or hold
down a [Ctrl] key and press either [PageUp] or [PageDown].
