Hey, I have recently installed Microsoft XP on my
computer, which is a a Pentium 2, 300mhz i think. Anyway,
I installed it and it works fine, until you connect to the
internet, after you connect to the internet, after about 3
minutes, the computer just freezes and will not move and
needs to be reset. It is really annoying and costing heaps
in dialing up fees, does anyone have any ideas im
desperate to find a solution, thanks!

If you are not sure of your system, how do you know it
accepts XP? Do some research on requirements for XP and
check out how much ram you have, you may need more.Be
aware, your mother board must support what you need.
...Good luck.

Your hardware is probably borderline.

Update drivers particularly your video and modem drivers.

Download Adaware from http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/ and use it to remove parasites.

How good is your housekeeping?

1. In Outlook Express empty your Deleted Items folder.

2. In Outlook Express run File, Folder, Compact All whilst OFFLINE.

3. Run Disk Cleanup. Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Cleanup.

Do these before running Disk Defragmenter.

Hope this helps.
