When one buys a new computer loaded with Microsoft XP
Professional, does it include any versions of Microsoft
Works?

What programs are on XP Professional?

Thanks for your help!

Windows XP is an "Operating System" and does not include
programs such as Microsoft Works or Office. You may purchase
those software programs separately. However, a computer
manufacturer may include those programs if you specify and
pay for them. Check the list of software the computer manufacturer
is including with a new PC before making a purchase.

No. No version of WIndows has ever included *any* significant
application software.

However, some OEM vendors sometimes bundle software packages with
computers they sell.

None, except for a few trivial applets like Notepad, Wordpad, and
Paint. Application software has to be bought separately.
