If WORKS came with the computer, as a bundled set of
applications, you must get software support from Compaq. If
you bought WORKS at some other time, you can provide
Microsoft some proof of retail purchase of WORKS you can get
replacement media at a nominal cost.

You can buy a new version (WORKS 7.0 is current) for about
$50 at Wal-Mart.

You'll need to talk to HP (that's who bought Compaq) about that. Your
version of works that came with your PC is an OEM version, meaning it is
supported by the computer manufacturer and not Microsoft.
Also, this is a public peer-to-peer newsgroup, moderated by and running
on Microsoft servers - so in essence, you've broadcasted your personal info
to the world.

I luv these people who set themselves up for junk mail, sociopaths, property damage, frauds, scams, telemarketers, etc

Makes it so easy for the criminals of the world
