You need to purchase Microsoft Office, word is part of that package
some vendors may include this in the price of a ready to run pc, bu
not all. office 2003 is the latest version although older versions ar
still available and work very well. You will be able to get if fro
just about and software retailer.

It's normal. You go to a shop to buy it. There is no such thing as XP Home Edition 2002. If you are used to Word coming with a computer it's because they sold it to you with the computer.

I'm pretty sure the XP I just installed yesterday was the "XP Home edition 2002"
(from Dell). I'm still using Wordpad though. Maybe I could find a shortcut to
the other partition that has ME on it and start Word 2000 from there? Is that a
conflict?
