Microsoft Wireless Optional Mouse cannot resync

I have my wireless mouse comes in a package with the fingerprint reader
keyboard and worked for over a year. Suddently, it stopped working.
I've tried to replaced the batteries (which I've already replaced
sometimes ago) and it still doesn't work. The red light in the bottom
is on.

I've tried to resync it by pressing the button on the receiver, and
when the green light is blinking, tried to press on the connect button
on the mouse, but the gree light still do not stop blinking. Seems like
it cannot resync. I am wondering what happen? Is my mouse dead?
 
Not familiar with this wireless mouse / fingerprint reader kit. How is it
connected to the PC (USB or PS/2????)
