Does anyone have one of this?

I have one that has recently stopped working. The mouse itself is fine, but
the base is broken. There's no green light indicating it is in operation.

Can the base only be replaced? Seems a waste to bin the mouse when its
working fine.

From my experience there is no service support for this. I have never been
able to find spare parts, or sections for these. I just recently had to buy
a new mouse...

Im usually a cheapskate so I dont get anything like this but I got for
$10 and maybe free after rebates so I went for it. It works great by
the way for anyone who was thinking of getting one. Its fairly large
so it has a more ergonomic shape , meaning it tends to be tall and put
your palm at an angle rather than forcing it flat. The downside a bit
is its relatively heavy which actually gives it a feeling of quality
and maybe even helps with precise movements but the tons of micro
movements you make --- the weight does get a bit noticeable.

Anyway there have been lots of deals on them.

The "groovy" version was also on sale but I guess they discontinued it
recently.

I doubt you can get only the base but if it's under warranty
you can get whole thing from MS. Google might find details
for product warranty department, details on mouse
replacement. For example,
http://www.xboxaddict.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-55820.html

You might be jumping the gun though, maybe the base works
but you've overloaded the USB ports or something like that.
if you have the eletrical/electronic troubleshooting skills
you can likely get the base working again, but if not,
there's little point lamenting over a wasted mouse....
actually it's not even wasted, if you buy another of same
model you then have two mice for it. Don't know why you'd
need two but once you have the working replacement you're
albe to take your time figuring out what's wrong with the
other base station.

I hate as much as anyone else to help make Bill Gates even richer and I am
on my third MS Intellimouse in four years the first two were wired and this
one is wireless but when they work they just can't be beat. The MS
Intellimouse line just has the best feel of anything I have tried. I think
you should just donate again to the bill gates foundation.

Most people who have tried the Logitech MX series, prefer
them.

I have to admit I just bought More MS Intellimouses today CompUSA has the
Wireless model on sale for $19.99 and has a 5 dollar rebate making it
$14.99. Great deal on a top grade mouse.

That is a good deal. Supposedly the MS wireless mice are
gentler on batteries, BUT they take a moment longer to wake
up from sleep state. Frankly I'd go with rechargeables so
it didn't make much difference in battery drain rate.
