I've just purchased Microsoft Wireless Desktop sets for several
machines and am experiencing odd problems with the mouse click (left
button).
When I tap or press and release the button it seems to be doing a
hold/select rather than releasing to perform a "click". For example,
if I click in a field then move the mouse the text between the pointer
and the place clicked is highlighted and when clicking hyperlinks on
web pages in IE nothing happens until I either click again or move the
mouse pointer, both of which seem to suggest the button is somehow
being "held down".
I'm having this problem with four separate Wireless Desktop sets, each
connected to different models of PC, three running Windows 2000 SP2
one with SP4. Tried using the standard MS W2K mouse drivers and the
bundled Intellipoint software and problem is present with both. Also
seem to make no different whether the RF receiver is plugged into the
USB port or using PS/2 connectors. It seems like a "feature" rather
than a fault with any of those but it's bl**dy annoying! A "normal"
wired Compaq (re-branded Logitech) mouse plugged into the same PCs
does not suffer the same problem.
Can anyone shed any light on it?
