Microsoft releases security patches on second Tuesdays. I believe that the
statements about the malware removal tools have also stated release dates of
second Tuesdays. That would be next week.

Here's the quote:

---------------------------------------
Starting from January 11th, 2005, Microsoft will provide Windows
customers with Malicious Software Removal Tools. New versions of these
tools will be available monthly (second Tuesday of every month on the
same schedule that Microsoft already delivers other security updates) or
more frequently if necessary.
---------------------------------------

Report them here--choose among the groups as best you can.

False Positives should be reported in the .signatures group.

I'd recommend NOT posting in this group.

HAVE YOU USED OR INSTALLED THIS ON YOUR COMPUTER AT
HOME??? IF YOU HAD, YOU CERTAINLY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND
THAT WE DO.
RUINED OUR COMPUTER AND FILES, NOT INTERNET CONNECTION,
LOST ITUNE, IE6, MS WORD, AND THE FIREWALL.
ROTTEN PIECE OF SOFTWARE. THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!

I hear you about the problems you have had--do you still need help getting
them fixed?

The issue with the firewall and the Internet connection is easily resolved:

If you are on Windows XP Service Pack 2,
Please type this at a command prompt:

netsh winsock reset

Hit the enter key,
then restart the machine.

For Windows 2000, Pre SP2 versions of XP, or for Windows Server 2003 pre
sp1, follow the procedure in this Microsoft Knowledge base article:
