Microsoft Window validation update..

I just checked the Microsoft site and it said I need to download and install
a validation tool KB892130, which I did. Was wondering if anyone else had
this message when they visited the site also. Guess it is suppose to make
updates easier????

This is new as of March first. This control is revised periodically. The
KB article says very little about what's changed, but basically, Microsoft
is trying to maintain the value of their intellectual property and be able
to reward their licensed customers.
 
Thanks, plun--hadn't spotted that, and it might be useful to the one guy
here who is having a problem with wga.

Well, a little strange user dialoge, some users don´t
understand that the validation tool must be able to "talk"
with MS, blocked firewall etc.

Nevertheless this is strange if so many running with
non updated PCs..........

My anti spyware update has been blocked by the unsuccessful verification
process. For some reason my system has been deemed unverifiable....

They're just trying to keep out those users that used the workaround for
this... You know, the one that was created within hours of it's initial
release... Not to worry though, from what I hear, this one has been cracked
for a few weeks now...
