While clicking on the link to get to
www.microsoft.com/java in article 245201 it took me to
page that I didn't expect. How can you get the latest
software in the form of a application that you can save
and expand on a non-internet PC ?

Thank-you for setting me in the right direction, this is
exactly what happened. I used a IE6 update from a XP
service pack.. and it didn't have the JAVA program.
