Microsoft - Use this patch immediately

In the "from" column in my email inbox, the following
message appears more than once each day. "Microsoft - Use
this patch immediately." When I open the attachment, a
window appears that says that Windows does not recognize
the sender and does not guarantee that the message carries
no virus. Why does Microsoft not recognize a message
which is listed as "from" Microsoft? Is the message from
Microsoft. Would Miccrosoft recommend that I apply this
patch?

Charles,

Microsoft NEVER, repeat NEVER, sends updates or patches by email. This is a
well-known virus-delivery scam.
