Microsoft updates shut down ActiveX

Greetings,
I have an Excel file that has 3 slide bars on a dynamic graph. (Windows 7 and Excel 2010) I just ran Windows updates and now the Active X slidebars have quit working. I "restored" the computer and regained the use of the activeX objects.

How can I determine which update is causing this?

Thanks for the link, I'd temporarily solved the problem by removing
KB2553154 - but was concerned that I'd turned off auto updates to stop
it being re installed.
