microsoft update nag in security centre

Can someone tell me how I can turn-off the nag bubble that appears from the
security centre icon in the system tray? I haven't activated windows
update - and don't want to.

It is very irritating.

Start ==> Help and Support ==> type in: Turn off security center alerts

The Windows help system is really quite useful.
