Can you navigate to "http://www.msus.windowsupdate.com/"
via IE? If you don't go via a proxy server, check the
settings in SUS to make sure there aren't any proxy
settings configured.

You might also solve the problem by updating to SUS sp1.

SUS syncronisation problem, unable to syncronise the server

I am a network administrator.

i m getting the follwoing error when i have installed sus and for the first time i m starting to download the pathces from the microsoft site...abt 0% of the patches have been downloaded and then the errors come.

Unable to connect to server "http://www.msus.windowsupdate.com/". Verify that your proxy settings are configured correctly. (Error 0x80072EE7: The server name could not be resolved by DNS.)

i could syncronize with microsoft befor. but caused by changing server ,ican't syncronyzed until now.
