I for one would like to thank Mr. John Langhans (Microsoft Supportability
Program Manager) for monitoring this forum, as well as the advice and
information that he shares. His presence in this forum indicates to me that
Microsoft is paying attention. Thanks John!

I agree totally. John has been spending a great deal of time and his
contribution is greatly appreciated.

John is hoping that people will start making full use of the "wishlist" and
start inputting requests for all of the enhancements that you would like to
see in the next release of PowerPoint. Since Microsoft is currently
gathering requirements and making decisions about what the next version will
include, this is everyone's opportunity to be heard and to have input into
PowerPoint 12.

To quote John:

Post your wishes at
http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also why it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).

I personally truly appreciated that, both John and Richard Brettschneider,
PPT Lead Program Manager, were in full attendance during the entire 2003
conference, sat in on and participated in the many various seminars, were
openly available in the Help Center, were willing to discuss program issues
one-one with anyone who asked, and also participated in the many other fun
activities.

John's generous support here on the newsgroup not only demonstrates his
continued interest to help those of us who use the various versions of PPT
realize the fullest benefit from them to meet our needs, but, his commitment
in learning our ever growing needs in order to stay competitive in our
respective industries.

Oh yeah...they're definitely listening....so, let them hear you....

A very big thanks to them both, and I hope to see them in San Diego in
October 2004. :-)

Jan :)

John knows everything about PowerPoint. In all versions.

It's when he *doesn't* know something about PowerPoint ... THAT'S scary.
