1) There's a link in the above document to download the Windows Installer
cleanup tool.
Download this and install it.
Run it via start, run, all programs.
Highlight ONLY Microsoft Antispyware--not sure exactly how it will read--and
hit Remove.
I would then recommend reinstalling Microsoft Antispyware, and then removing
it via add or remove programs--that should clean things up.
If you don't still have the installation source for Microsoft Antispyware,
it can be found at
www.filehippo.com
Be sure to get build .701.
I'd recommend moving on to Beta2--Windows Defender, which is available
here--but only after cleaning up the problems with removing Microsoft
Antispyware in your case--the Defender install will normally do an
uninstall, but in your case it may have trouble--so complete the stuff above
first.
