Microsoft Site has W32/Sdbot worm !!!!

D

DazedConfused

I have talked with MS techs 2 times. I was in the process of updating to SP4
for Windows 2000 and McAfee warned of the W32/Sdbot.worm.gen.g Virus. It has
a total of 4 or 5 infected files in thier download.
As expected my update failed. I talked with MS this morning and they were
going to look into it.
Has anyone had this problem or know anything new about this problem?

Thanks

You haven't really given enough information.

What is the version of your McAfee scan engine?
What is the version of the .DAT files for McAfee?

What is the URL of the site that you attempted to use for downloading SP4 for Win. 2000?
Did you go there yourself, or did you click on a link in an e-mail message, which might have
resulted in a spoofed URL?

Here is more information on the topic of spoofed URL's:

Web sites and malicious hyperlinks

I can tell you that I run McAfee antivirus software as well, and I had no such problems when I
downloaded and installed SP4 for Windows 2000.
