One of the info lists (Langalist) led me to a Microsoft Research
site from which I downloaded some programs....WWMX Travelog and Story
Viewer, GPS Track, and Location Stamper. I figured that Microsoft was
offering these as interesting, useful, free utilities, from their
descriptions. The problem is, where are the "How To" instructions?
One of you nice Microsoft MVPs want to lead me to them? Or tell
me what newsgroup to inquire in? Thanks.

Most of the available downloads are at
http://research.microsoft.com/research/downloads/

A number that you mention have a link to the appropriate site
(http://wwmx.org/ in a number of case)
This has a help section and the application themselves often contain help

Please note in many cases these "applications" are just research
vehicles/studies and not supported or heavily documented.
