Microsoft Remote Desktop Can not connect

OK, I need help. I am using Verizon DSL, they do not open port 80, do I need
port 80 open to use Microsoft Remote Desktop?

Next, I have XP Home at the house and XP Pro at the office. I am using my
house PC that has XP Home to access my PC at the office that has XP Pro with
using the Remote desktop fuction under start-acc-communication-remote
desktop. I just got off the phone with tech support and said it will not
work, must use XP pro to connect to my home PC, will not wotk the other way.

No you only need TCP Port 80 (IIS) open if your using Remote Desktop Web
Connection. Otherwise you only need TCP Port 3389 (Remote Desktop
Protocol). See this page for help...

Note that using the RDP Web Connection can complicate the issue greatly and
is not really needed, IMHO...

To remotely access/control your office PC (XP Pro) from the home PC (XP
Home) see the above page. You call using the public IP of the office PC or
if its behind a firewall/router then TCP Port 3389 needs to be
forwarded/opened to the private office LAN IP of your work PC. Contact your
work network administrators about doing that.

If you want to remotely access/control your home PC (XP Home) from work (XP
Pro) you need to use a third-party program like UltraVNC. If the home PC is
behind a firewall/router you need to forward/open TCP Port 5900 to the
private home LAN IP of your home PC. Call using the public IP of the home
PC. You can get the UltraVNC server, client, encryption plug-in (very
important) and XP video driver (installed on the home XP Home PC) from...
