dell 600m ethernet controller

Dell has no specs for my Dell 600m. I need drivers for the dell 600m
ethernet controller. In hardware there is an ! mark.

I thought Dell would have the original hardware config under the service
tag. But it does not list it.

The Dell system scan does not pick it up. I guess cause they don't list the
ethernet model and make, there is no way I know which driver to DL.

Maybe Dell thinks I will have a dream and the dell 600m ethernet controller
make, model, driver, etc. will come to me tonight? Or as I walk through the
French Quarter?

Thanks from New Orleans

Try using one of these system utilities to identify the specific
hardware components, and then go directly to the manufaturers' web site
to find the pertinent drivers:

First off, did your laptop come with a Resources CD? If so, the
original drivers for your network adapter should be included
among the files on that CD. Look for an entry named Broadcom
440x 10/100 Integrated Controller.

If you don't have the CD the driver can be downloaded here;

Drivers and Downloads, Dell Inspiron 600m
Look under Network for Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated
Controller
http://support.dell.com/support/dow...D=INS_PNT_PM_600M&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=

Direct Download, Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller
http://support.dell.com/support/dow...-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=5&fileid=111674

Keep in mind that there is a chance your laptop came with the
optional Broadcom 570x Gigabit Integrated Controller. That
driver would be available here;

Good luck

Thanks to Everyone, Bruce, Neptsfan,

I concede that you are in the top tier. In New Orleans working on the
Harvey Canal for the USCORP of ENG, this is my brother's notebook so I had
no idea which Ethernet RJ45 this Dell had. The Fresh Devices, Belarc and
others did not pick up the controller cause there was no driver installed?

( Fresh UI - http :// freshdevices com - your free Windows tweaking tool -
just got better with the release of version 7.89. What's new: hidden options
for WordPad application.
Download here )

The Dell website did not list the original confi for the ethernet adapter.
But you were correct, it is the 10/100 ethernet adapter.

The DL, install and restart worked perfect.

Enjoy your chicken and sausage gumbo.
