Microsoft Power Point has not been installed for the current user.

When I try to use Power Point, it loads and the pictures
appear in the left column. But as soon as thay appear I
recieve the following message. "Microsoft Power Point has
not been installed for the current user. Please run setup
to install the Application." Would someone please inform
me how to install for the current user. (I am the only
user on this computer)

First, the attached url explains some of the things that happen in
PowerPoint in regard to user permissions.

But to progress further, it would be handy to know your PowerPoint version
and also version of Windows. Also, have you tried detect and repair from the
help menu? Do you have a printer installed?

How do I get to the detect and repair, (which help menu)
Yes there is a printer connected.
I am not on a network.

Detect and Repair is on the Help menu. You'll also need to insert your
installation CD if it is asked for.

Have you run Setup as the message box suggested?

It might be that a registry problem has confused it or that you've changed your
user name (making it think that you're somebody else) or ... well, whatever.
But rerunning setup may well fix it.

Problem is I can not get Power Point open long enough to
get to the Help menu before the Message ""Microsoft Power
Point has not been installed for the current user. Please
run setup to install the Application." Maybe I don't
understand what is going on!
 
Okay, then put your installation CD in the drive, look for setup.exe and run it.
A menu
will appear. Select Repair and proceed.
