I'm trying to configure Microsoft Outlook 2002, so I can be able to read the
E-mail sent to my hotmail address (the E-mail at mail Hotmail account).

I get the following error when trying to "receive" the E-mails (or E-mail
header) from the Hotmail server :

Uppgiften Hotmail: Mapp:Inkorgen Synkroniserar meddelandehuvuden.
rapporterade felet (0x80004005): Ett oknt fel har uppsttt. Spara allt arbete
och starta om programmet.

This will be in English (roughly translated) :
The account "Hotmail" : Folder:Inbox is syncronizing messageHeaders.
Reported the error (0x80004005): An unknown fault has occured. Save your
work and restart the program.

My configuration of the account is :
HTTP server !
Your Name : Andy Garcia
E-mail address : (e-mail address removed)
Username : andy.garcia (I have also tried with (e-mail address removed))
password : < I have used my hotmail-account password>
Provider of HTTP E-mail service : Hotmail

(the address above is ofcourse an example only)

Does anyone have any clue why this isn't working ?
Have you tried the same stuff, and it's working for you ?

Is this a paid Hotmail account? Outlook no longer supports free hotmail
accounts.

This is not a paid hotmail account, that explaines my problems.
Thank you very much for your quick answer.

That is not entirely true. If you have an old enough Hotmail account, Outlook
still works for free. I have a free hotmail account and still use Outlook (on
a daily basis) to read my hotmail email.

Even those are being turned off, it appears.
