Good Day Folks,

I am having a rather huge problem with my Outlook PST
File. Everytime I pull mail I get an error code 0x80040119
which relates back to the corrupted Outlook file.

Microsoft site only recommends that I run the Inbox repair
tool which I already ran and it hasn't detected any errors.

The problem is everytime I try to pull e-mail I get an
error saying no. of messages couldn't be retrieved from
server. This usually hapens when the connection to the
server is lost due to server or network problems.

Now... how can I reslove this? I tried Compacting my PST
File, copying it and stuff but It still doesn't work as I
can't recieve any e-mail but I can send.

Can please anyone lend any assistance?

Check to see how many datafiles are in your setup. Start/Contro
Panel/Mail. Then select data files. If you have more than one data fil
then make sure you are pointing to the one you want to use. Do no
clear out the other paths until you have a full back up and a copy o
the files they point to. They all will ( or at least on mine ) point t
.pst files.

here is the info from outlook help: Hope this helps

You can create additional data files if you want to organize Outloo
items into specific folders. For example, you might want to keep al
messages from a specific company in a separate data file. When yo
create the data file, you can use any name for the file. The defaul
name is Personal Folders(1).pst, Personal Folders(2).pst, and so forth
You can use any name for the folder associated with that data file. Th
default name for the folder that appears in the Outlook Folder List i
Personal Folders.
You can also use AutoArchive to move items to a an archive fil
(Archive.pst. Unlike exporting, where the original items are copied t
the export file but are not removed from the current folder, archivin
copies items to the archive file and then removes them from the curren
folder. AutoArchive allows you to set up a schedule and archiv
multiple folders at the same time at set intervals.
A utility called PST Backup enables you to make an exact copy (in th
same file format) of a .pst data file, copy the backup file to you
hard disk or to a network share, and specify a time interval at whic
Outlook will prompt you to back up a file. Use the backup file t
restore the current .pst file in the event that it becomes corrupted o
deleted. To use the utility, you must download it from the Microsof
Outlook downloads site.
When you remove items from a Personal Folders file, your file size wil
not decrease unless you Compact the file. For more information, see th
topic "Reduce the size of a data file.

If you can open OL and view your mailboxes as well as send, then I wouldn't
think there is a problem with your .pst file at all. If it were corrupted,
you'd most likely not be able to open it at all.

From your description, it sounds like a networking issue rather than an OL
issue.
