Microsoft Outlook 2007 Calendar Reminder?

Hi all,

Hoping someone can help me. I'm switching from Works 8.0 to Office
2007 and I can see the extra features in the Calendar, but there's one
feature in Works 8.0 that I can't find in Office.

Previously, it was possible to have a small program resident in memory
which would remind me of appointments without having to have the full
Calendar program open in the background.

Currently, the only way Outlook 2007 is reminding me of appointments,
is if I have the whole Outlook running in the background.

Is there any way to have Outlook remind me of appointments without
opening the entire program?

Thanks!

No, unless there's some third-party add-in that will do it. I didn't Google
for any, so don't know.

Outlook doesn't support such an option.

don't forget it will either need to make copies of the appointments or
outlook will run hidden... so instead of outlook running where you can see
it and use it, it runs in the background so another program can access its
data.
