CAn anyone tell me why I'm unable to send an email with
1MB or more? Just keeps kicking it back, but then the
receipient states they get it multiple times. so even
tho it say's it hasn't been sent it actually has?

Greetings --

You should probably direct this question to the Administrator of
the Exchange Server you're mailing through, or to your ISP if you're
using a POP3 account.

and the administrator of my exchange server would be
who? Would that be Dell? (please excuse my ignorance in
that last question, but I'm clueless!) My isp is not the
issue (checked there first) but looks like maybe I have
something set incorrectly?

Greetings --

Outlook - as opposed to Outlook Express - is most frequently used
in a business environment on a corporate LAN, and connects to said
company's Exchange Server. It would now appear that this situation
doesn't apply to you, but we had no way of knowing that from your
original post.

Less often, people do use Outlook on home PCs, configured to
connect with their Internet Service Provider's POP3 mail server. Many
ISPs place limits on the size of attachments that can be sent via
their service; hence I suggested that you consult them.

As for an incorrect setting, I'm aware of nothing in Outlook that
can be easily set to do what you describe. In fact, I'd be hard
pressed to construct a message rule to accomplish this. Have you
tried inserting the Office CD and selecting the option to repair the
Office installation?

It was unclear from your posting about server to which you sent mail. I
could have been and ISP or via an Exchange server (used in companies).
So ... drop the issue about Explorer as it's a) nothing to do with Dell,
and b) nothing to do with your problem.

There are no settings I know of in the versions of Outlook and Outlook
express that limit the size of attachments.

This sort of limitation is often imposed by the ISP at their mail
server. Check your ISP's web site for something which documents this.
Their help desk may not be aware.

What is the *exact* error message. Please be more specific than "just
kicking it back."
