which it then does. this error report includes _ information regarding the
condition of windows explorer when the problem occurred, the operating system
and computer hardware in use:your digital product ID, which could be used to
identify your license;and the internet protocol (IP) address of your
computer. has anyone encountered a similar problem as microft has no 'fix'
for the problem which is extremely annoying. thanx veds1

Eliminate any scumware.
CAUTION!!!!! Before you try to remove spyware using any of these programs ,
download a copy of LSPFIX from any of the following sites:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
(if your OS is Win2k or XP) The process of removing certain malware may kill
your internet connection. If this should occur, this program, LSPFIX, will
enable you to regain your connection.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

The fix is to "quit" going to the sites that "may" have questionable
advertising techniques. The new pop-up software (whether MS's or 3rd Party)
will block certain items (i.e. activeX, java or asp applets) from
downloading as they are pop-up ads and as the page downloads it gets to the
"code" to execute these blocked applets and they are missing - so poof IE
and others, such as Netscape for FireFox don't know how to handle it so they
abort, abend, abnormally terminate - this is the web site designers fault -
they should design the page to skip over execution of applets if they don't
exist - but that takes time and time is money and the designers company
don't want to waste time on "what ifs".
