Any one have any issues with part of the words on the left hand side of the
screen missing when microsoft office outlook is open ? It's really wierd,
sometimes the whole word is there and somtimes like the last one or two
letters are mising but nothing that seems regular from day to day. Like on
the name "Sent Items" sometimes it just says "Sent Iten"

Hi Bill--

It's not a widely known issue. Why don't you upload a screenshot on flickr.

Make sure your screen resolution is optimal for whatever company makes your
monitor. They are going to have recommendations as to optimal resolution.

Meanwhile you can try repairing Office at Add/Remove. Open
Add/Remove>highlight Office 2003 in the list>click repair.

I doubt that will change things, and in the event it doesn't, I'd download
and install the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

Highlight all programs you see listed there associated with Office 2003
(Word, Excel, etc.)

After that uninstall and reinstall Office 2003.

Good luck,

CH

Thanks Chad,
Something to think about doing I guess. I have a brand new HP Computer
running Vista with 6 Gig of Ram as well as a new monitor. All my updates are
current as well. This is a computer at work. Reinstalling Office might work I
guess. It's really weird how sometimes part of the letters are missing ans
sometimes not. Graphics and resolution are quite well actually.

Thanks,
~Bill~

Yes I am.

Hi Bill--

I could have added that Office has a Diagonstic test you can do as well, but
after running it for the half hour or so it takes, I'm not sure it would
help. I can't think of any issues in partitular that having a 64 bit OS
brings. I've been using Office on 64 bit for more builds of Windows 7
loaded than I can count over the last few months, but sometimes when you
load an Office things just don't work for example Outlook glitches, and it's
no big deal to reinstall--actually on a 64 bit box with the huge amount of
memory you have it takes less time than running the Office diagnostic.
Using the Win Installer Cleanup Utility first is like cleaning up a kid's
toys in the front hall when you're having a dinner party. It gets rid of
corrupt .dlls and registry orphans that might be in the way of the uninstall
or a future install if they are present.
