Microsoft Network Update screwed up my ethernet adapter

Installed a Microsot update for the D-Link - Networking - D-Link DGE-530T
Gigabit Ethernet Adapter today. Afterward, I lost all connection to the
Adaptor. I eventually uninstalled the D-Link Driver, rebooted and then
Windows 'Acquired Network Address'. So then I was connected.

On next reboot, the same problem. No connection, can't repair the
connection, can't locate an IP Address (even tried dos
ipconfig/release...ipconfig/renew to no avail.).

What the heck did the update do to my D-Link Hardware? It's a real nuissance
having to disable my adapter and reboot just to use the internet.

System:
Windows XP professional sp2
Dell Dimension 8100
D-Link - Networking - D-Link DGE-530T Gigabit Ethernet Adapter
Bios Version A02

Check if Dlink has a new driver for NIC. If not, remove the update
