Hallo

If anyone can maybe help me?

When I work with Microsoft Movie Maker, and I have a clip in the Storey

book, and than want to add an Effect and than Drag the effect to the clip

in the story book it just all of a sudden Close Down the whole program! I

did not have this before.

I've tried everything, from different clip types and so on, but it will not

work as it should: the effect will not be accepted one way or another.

So, I figure, the program is corrupt or something? I did reinstall the

program some 2-3 times, which does not work neither. An I missing a dll or

something?

Please, if anyone can aide me, this would be great. Many thanks in advance

anyways.

Don't know if it will help but I recently solved an equally weird problem
(Almost any action in MovieMaker would trigger the install program for
Windows PhotoGallery) by going into MMs' Tools/Options/Compatibility. When I
unchecked all the filters the problem was solved and by adding the filters
back a few at a time I found the "corrupt" filter to be something called LEAD
MCMP/... Where it came from and why it wants to install PhotoGallery I don't
know...

Hallo PapaJohn,

Many thanks for your advice.....;-)

I have found the solution in renaming the [DivXAF.ax] file that I had. Just

renamed it to [-DivXAF.ax]. And now Movie maker is running ad it should!
This is the first one I took into hands and it was the correct one too! Did
not have to go any further...;-)

No more crashing and so forth....;-)

From your site:

"divxaf.ax - 'Digital Anti-Freeze' - part of the Nimo Codec package -
causes crashes when trying to preview or play transitions and effects"

Thanks again for your in-put.

Hallo Pywackett TheCat,

Still thank you for your in-put.

PapaJohn's adice had more result, if I may be frank.

Lucky it was just a codec that had to be checked out, so to speak...;-)

And that just one codec can mess-up the function of other programs! Which
is not too smart...;-)

thanks for the feedback Ed... glad it worked
