I recently got new PC with vista. I loaded My Money and when I go to open it
it comes up in MicroMedia. I cannot retrieve. Is Money a product that is
not compatible with VISTA?? If it is compatible how do I get it to come up
like it did on my old PC??

I assume that when you say "I loaded My Money" you mean that you
actually installed the program. If you didn't and just copied your My
Money data backup file over, then the answer is that you need to install
the program from its original installation CD.

Otherwise, I did a Google search for "MS Money and Vista" and came up
with these links that may help you:

http://money.mvps.org/faq/article/403.aspx
http://financialsoft.about.com/od/msmoney/f/MSMoney_Vista.htm
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/927811

A quick glance through the articles at those sites indicates that some
version of MS Money will work but patches are required. MS Money isn't
my area of expertise so you may wish to take a look at the articles and
then post in the Money newsgroup.

You'll find the MS Money experts here:
microsoft.public.money

If you do decide to post, make sure that you include the version of MS
Money you are using.

It sounds like the file is set to open with MicroMedia rather than Money.
You can right click the money file and select "Open With" and find the MS
Money exe, and select "Always use this program to open this file type" (or
similar).

That should set it so you can open your Money files with MS Money.

I bet what it actually said was "macromedia"........like in flash player.
Which you need to install for Money to run properly under Vista
