Hello;

This MS logo appears on my desktop, in the lower right
hand corner, and, I would like to know if I can remove it
( Sorry Microsoft I need the space!); Windows XP
Professional Build 2600....etc., etc.. Thanks .

Hello Robert;

It appears along with my Webshots screensaver, so, I
guess it is a part of the wall paper.Thanks for the
response.

It is simply the Windows XP build number. It can be removed but I can't
remember how. It has been a very long time since I last removed the build
number. You might try looking at some of the tweakui applications. I am sure
there is one that has an option to remove the build number. If I can locate
the information on removing the build number I'll come back to you on the
newsgroup.

Using TweakUI, go to General, then scroll to the bottom of the list on the
right and uncheck "Show Windows version on desktop".

Hello;
TweakUI worked just fine. Thanks for the help. I do
appreciate it.

How to Configure Windows XP So That the Build Number Is Displayed on the
Desktop

To configure Windows XP so that the build number is not displayed on the
desktop:
Click Start, and then click Run.

Locate and click the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

In the right pane, double-click PaintDesktopVersion.
Type 0 in the Value data box, and then click OK.
Click Exit on the Registry menu.
