In the system log I find
"The Microsoft Legacy Modem Driver service failed to start
due to the following error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is
disabled or because it has no enebled devices associated
with it."

That is correct, I do not have modems on my machine.
Is it possible to remove/delete this service from my
system ?

From Start/Run, type Services.msc and press Enter. This should open the
Services applet. See if you see the service listed. If you do, double-click
on it and check the Startup type. If set to anything other than disabled,
try changing it to Disabled or possibly Manual. Once changed, click OK and
then reboot your system to see if you get the message again.
