There would appear to be no Articles in the Knowledge Base specific to
Vista. Have there been any announcements by Microsoft as to their
intentions?

Following your link led me to discover Windows Vista Business and
Windows Vista Ultimate Edition. They are out of order in the Product
list and earlier I was looking for Vista not Windows Vista. The second
time I looked Windows Vista Enterprise had been added.

I did a search on Windows Vista Ultimate Edition with System Restore
and last 14 days as the search criteria:
http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1

The result was 164 articles but I suspect most may not have Vista in
the Applies to: Section. I did not find any but from other web pages
there may be a few around. I would imagine reviewing all KB Articles
to see which apply to Vista could be a major undertaking.

It looks as though changes to the Knowledge Base have started.

Thanks for your input.

There may be over 200 but they are not easily identified in the
Knowledge Base. The Vista MSKB Articles you refer to are most likely
based on the Beta product and may therefore now need updating. From
what I saw earlier I think Microsoft have made a start, perhaps today,
on updating the Knowledge Base to include Vista. A lot of Articles
written for earlier operating systems will apply to Vista.

Of course the Search Engine employed by Microsoft for use with the
Knowledge Base has never been up to scratch.

CH,

mate, you have yet for learning the location for the 200+ Vista specific
articles found through out Microsoft Sites.

seriously, have you searched Microsoft using just one noun, Vista?

CH

I got 164 by entering System Restore in association with Windows Vista
Ultimate Edition. However, until Microsoft have finished reorganising
I think it is best to be patient.

Maybe not from your side of the pond, but all Vista versions are available
in the list of products at http://support.microsoft.com/search/ for me.
Select any one of them and leave the search for box blank and you'll get
plenty (hundreds) of articles on Vista. Start at
http://support.microsoft.com/search/default.aspx?catalog=LCID=1033&spid=11734&query=&adv=

I agree with you that MSFT has never had adequate search on
www.microsoft.com and the MSKBs-- and many other search engines cover them
better and with more precision.

The over 200 were listed if you clicked my link. The time cycle for them
is slower than I would like, but the MSKBs will increase for Vista after it
RTMs. Many of them are based on the RTM--you have to remember they had
access to features that they would have in the final version before any Beta
group did.

I don't know what is so special about today, and many mskbs written for XP
do and will apply to Vista, and many others will be unique to Vista.

Keep checking the KBs from time to time, and you'll see them increase.
Check Technet and if you need, MSDN as well.

Another good source of information is to type your key word or words along
with msdn blog or technet blog in the search engine.

Yes I often search it using vista and windows vista. It will increase in
time. I also use Help in Vista--it is often *not superficial and can be an
aid.
