A couple of times a day this driver (Microsoft kernel wave audio mixer)
quits responding and I no longer have audio. I have to close all programs,
uninstall the driver and re-install it
for it to work again. I seems to work fine while there is audio coming from
the computer, but once it has stopped for a prolonged time, the driver no
longer responds.

I have a SoundBlaster Live! Value - which has worked fine for years, now it
is having issues (this seems to have begun after installing a Logitech
Webcam Messenger).

Thanks for any help!

Suggest you do a system restore to before you installed the Webcam Messenger
and see how your soundcard behaves. If it is OK, then you have your culprit.

Also consult the Logitech website for either updated drivers and FAQ's (for
compatability issues with XP) which may have workarounds to your problem.
Make sure your DirectX is upto date and also your soundcard drivers (XP
specific).

If you installed sp2 check on the MS website for software incompatability
problems :

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=842242&product=windowsxpsp2
for programmes that stopped working

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=884130&product=windowsxpsp2
for programmes that behave differently

Cheers,
Jerry

Jerry,

Ok I've updated soundcard drivers, uninstalled the webcam that I thought
might be causing conflicts (I didn't have system restore turned on so I
can't restore prior to installing the webcam) and updated to XP-SP2. The
problem still happens.

Any further thoughts?

Thanks!
