Hi,

Recently I has try to install some of my software in a PC. and my
software are actually using microsoft MSADO objects. The problem come when I
try to run this software in this pc. The computer throw an error said that
"Provider is no longer available. Ensure that the provider is install
properly" What actaully this mean? I have try to install the service pack 8
for MS JET engine but it fail because of saying that current PC version is
newer than what I want to update.

The computer run in Windows XP with Microsoft Office XP Standard installed.
What will cause this problem occur? The software work perfect in any others
system.

Guy please give me some hint how to some this kind of problem. I have
totally no idea how to make that computer can access Microsoft Access
Database file.

Thank in advance guy.
With regards,
Goh

1. What MDAC version have you installed? There is an MDAC version checker
for download from the MS site, if you cannot figure it out.

2. Have you installed any beta software from MS on your PC?

If you have MDAC 2.8, you should be able to install the Jet bits. You may be
out of sync and a reinstall of MDAC 2.8 would help. If there is betaware,
you may have hosed things.

Dun know what reason why both Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC)
2.8 and Jet 4.0 Service Pack 8 (SP8) for Windows XP (KB829558) cannot be
install in this pc. how can I uninstall previous version of both
components.

Hi Goh,

If you have windows xp sp2 installed on your machine, try to install MDAC
2.8 sp1. This version matches MDAC in SP2.
