Hi all, recently one of my friends talked me into removing Microsoft Java
from my system, since I had Java platform 1.5 installed and running.
Everything seemed fine and dandy but recently I discovered that on certain
websites Java apps do not function correctly any longer. Was I ill advised
or is something else the matter? I run XP Home SP2 and have all update
patches installed properly. I hope that one of the specialists may come up
with some advice.
Thank you kindly for your time.

Talked you into: why? - you should'nt allways listen to 'expert friends'
Without Sun Java you cannot access some sites and will lose functionability
on your sys.
Visit Sun site, download and install JRE

Hi, maybe I did not express myself clearly and I apologize for that. I still
have Sun Java (rev. 1.5) installed and running. All I removed was Microsoft
VM, which according to my "expert" friend was based on an old Java version
anyway and no longer developed by Microsoft.

Hi Alver,
Try to do System restore and go back to your old settings before that happend,
VM (Virtual Machine) act as the Translator for your computer and Java
Language which written by Programmers to display the applets and other
functions on your Sys to disply pages written in Java.
Hope this helps
nass
